    Our Heritage

Discover TransponderTech’s journey from Swedish AIS pioneer to global maritime innovator, now part of Teledyne FLIR Maritime.

From Swedish Roots to Global Maritime Leadership

TransponderTech was founded in Solna, Sweden, with a mission to enhance maritime safety through advanced navigation and communication systems. Over the decades, it has become a global leader in SOLAS-certified technologies, serving commercial shipping, defense fleets, and airborne platforms.

    A Legacy of Innovation

TransponderTech is renowned for its pioneering work in:

    • Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) – enabling real-time vessel tracking and collision avoidance.
    • VHF Data Exchange System (VDES) – the next-generation AIS, offering secure, high-capacity data exchange and satellite interoperability.
    • GNSS Solutions – including robust systems designed to counter GPS jamming and spoofing threats.

These technologies have helped shape the future of maritime navigation, contributing to safer seas and more efficient operations.
